Your cloud-based device may occasionally go offline due to power outages or disconnected cables. To stay informed about these incidents, you can set up SMS or EMAIL notifications, depending on your preference. Setting up these alerts will ensure you're promptly notified when your system experiences downtime. In this article we will explore how to set up notifications via email and then SMS. 

1. Setting Up Email Notifications

Enabling email notifications for your dashboard is simple. Follow these steps to set up email notifications for your system:

1. Log in to Your Dashboard

  1. Visit https://portal.callvellux.com and log in to your account.

2. Access Your Profile Settings

  1. Click on your profile picture located at the top right corner of the dashboard.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select "My Profile."

3. Enter Your Email Address for Notifications

  1. On the new page that opens, locate the "Email Address for Notifications" field.
  2. Enter the email address where you would like to receive notifications.

4. Set Your Notification Period

  1. Choose how soon you want to receive email notifications after your system is detected as offline.
  2. Options include: Immediately, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 45 minutes.

5. Select Your Preferred Notification Type

  1. Ensure that the "Preferred Notification Type" is set to "Email." This is very important as the system will not send out emails if this option is set to "SMS."

6. Save Your Settings

  1. Click on the "Save" button to apply your changes.

2. Setting Up SMS Notifications

Before you can set up SMS notifications on the dashboard, you have to register for a Sendeasy account. Sendeasy is a bulk SMS service provider and you will need the API login credentials from this service to activate the SMS feature on your dashboard.

Register for a Sendeasy Account

Complete the Signup Form

  1. Fill out the registration form here: SendEasy Account Signup Form.
  2. The Sendeasy team will review your details and send you your credentials via email directly.
  3. Only once you have the API login credentials can you proceed to the next step.

Buying SMS Credits

Follow these steps to purchase SMS credits on the Sendeasy platform:

Log in to Sendeasy
  1. Use your email address and password to log in to the Sendeasy platform.
Select the Number of SMS Credits
  1. At the top-right of the page, click on "Buy Credits."
  2. Choose the number of SMS credits you wish to purchase.
Proceed to Checkout
  1. Click on the "Next" button to proceed.
Complete the Payment Process
  1. Select your preferred payment method.
  2. Follow the prompts to complete your purchase.
Once your payment is processed, your SMS credits will be added to your account.
You should also see your available SMS balance on your dashboard.

Linking Your API Credentials to SMS Settings on the Dashboard

Follow these steps to set up SMS notifications and link your API credentials:

1. Log in to Your Dashboard

  1. Visit https://portal.callvellux.com and log in to your account.

2. Access Your Profile Settings

  1. Click on your profile picture located at the top right corner of the dashboard.

3. Enter your Mobile Number for SMS Notifications

  1. On the new page that opens, locate the "Phone Number" and "Phone Number for Notifications" fields.
  2. Enter your mobile number in both fields.
  3. Click on "Save" to save your changes.

4. Set Your Notification Period

  1. Choose how soon you want to receive SMS notifications after your system is detected as offline.
  2. Options include: Immediately, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 45 minutes.

5. Set your Preferred Notification Type to SMS

  1. Ensure that the "Preferred Notification Type" is set to "SMS."
  2. This is important as the system will not send SMS notifications if this option is set to "Email."

6. Enter your API Credentials

  1. On the sidebar to the left, locate and click on the "Sites" option. 
  2. Next to your site name, enter the API Username and API Password provided to you via email by the Sendeasy team during signup.
  3. Click on the "Save" button to save your changes.
